Returning to reminisce about the past and unite to compose new chapters. On the morning of December 3, a delegation of alumni from the American Alumni Association, led by President Yu Wenmin, returned to our university for an exchange. Ouyang Qian, secretary of the CPC Guangzhou University Committee and chairman of the university council, received the alumni.
Secretary Ouyang Qian warmly welcomed the visiting alumni and expressed sincere gratitude for their long-standing support and concern for the development of their alma mater. He provided the guests with an introduction to the rapid development of Guangzhou University in recent years. Ouyang emphasized that Guangzhou University adheres to Xi Jinping's Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, upholds the socialist direction of education, fully implements the Party's educational policies, and deeply enforces the fundamental task of cultivating virtue and talent. He noted that the university is focused on major national strategies and the development needs of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and is advancing education reform and development, technological innovation, and talent cultivation in a unified manner. He expressed hope that the alumni would continue to care for and support the development of the university, injecting strong motivation into the university's efforts to promote the construction of a world-class innovative university with Chinese characteristics and to help write a new chapter in building a strong education nation and advancing modernization in the Chinese context.
The alumni expressed heartfelt gratitude for the meticulous preparations made by the Guangzhou University Alumni Association for this event and felt inspired and encouraged by their alma mater's comprehensive strength and development prospects.
