On November 22, Guangzhou University (GZHU) celebrated the 20th Anniversary of its merger. Over 500 representatives from 30 sister colleges and universities in Guangzhou, 6 GZHU academicians, alumni representatives, faculty and students gathered together to celebrate the Anniversary. The celebration conference was broadcast live online at the same time.
At 3:00 p.m., hosted by GZHU President Wei Minghai, the celebration conference kicked off. Congratulations from the Provincial Department of Education, the Municipal Party Committee and the Municipal Government were read at the conference. Medals were presented to academicians, retiree representatives, and outstanding faculty members. A special promotional video for the Anniversary, a congratulation video from President of the University of Padova, a member of the Alliance Guangzhou International Sister-City Universities, and congratulation videos from alumni associations and alumni representatives at home and abroad were broadcast.
In the evening, the evening gala for the 20th Anniversary and the New Year 202 0was held. The university will also organized a series of activities such as the academician think tank innovation forum, concerts, students ceremonies and poetry contest to fully display the development achievements of GZHU.
