Guangzhou University, March 28, 2014:This morning, five delegates of our university, headed by Professor Yu Jianshe, Chairman of Guangzhou University Party Council, were invited to attend the 2014 Zhongshan Business Investment & Talent Recruitment Fair, also the 1st Zhongshan - Chaozhou Industry Exchange Conference, sited in Zhongshan Expo. In the duration of meeting, Chen Liangxian, Mayor of Zhongshan City, and Chen Yongheng, Vice-president of Guangzhou University, signed a Strategic Cooperation Pact.
According to the agreement, Zhongshan City and Guangzhou University will seek collaboration on issues of social administration, strategic emerging industry, advanced manufacture industry, modern service industry, reform on traditional competitive industries and other related municipal complications, with the bilateral joint pool of intellectual resources. Both sides attempt to initiate research projects on strategic development, planning & design, culture & education, resource exploitation, exhibition & tourism, social investigation, community services, and massive data analysis. Besides, they propose to invite experts, scholars, entrepreneurs as well as journalists on related fields for workshops to work out countermeasures to the problems stemming from the reform and transformation of traditional competitive industry, thus promoting the all-round economic and social development of Zhangshan City. Moreover, the two sides will develop close ties on scientific research and education while taking pains to establish research centers, transform scientific achievement into industrial output, erect training bases, enlarge opportunities of education practice, assign young prospective teaching staff to administrative positions, introduceoverseas high-caliber education resources, and jointly initiate international advanced educational program. With these efforts, the problems evolving from the in-depth economic reform of Guangzhou City will be effectively resolved, and the talent cultivation program of our university be uplifted to a higher stage.
