The International Association for Seismic Isolation and Vibration Control (ASSISi) recently announced the results of the inaugural ASSISi Global Design & Innovation Awards. The project titled "Vibration-Seismic Isolation for Chisha TOD Building," led by Professor Chen Yangyang from the Earthquake Engineering Research and Test Center of Guangzhou University, along with contributions from Dr. Yang Zhenyu and Professor Tan Ping, was honored with the sole Grand Prize.
This prestigious award, established by ASSISi, recognizes innovative technologies in seismic isolation and energy dissipation that have achieved significant engineering accomplishments on a global scale. The evaluation committee, composed of academicians, professors, and senior engineers from the United States, Japan, Europe, and other regions, reviewed 37 eligible submissions from 14 countries. The final results included one Grand Prize and six Category Awards based on scoring.
The award ceremony will take place during the 19th World Conference on Seismic Isolation (19WCSI) in Berkeley, California, USA, in 2025.
