On April 15, Guangzhou University (GZHU) and The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology(HKUST) held online academic forum on data intelligence. Professor Wei Minghai, President of GZHU, attended the forum and delivered a speech. A total of 15 experts and professors in artificial intelligence and data science from the two universities exchanged research achievements and experience online. The opening ceremony of the forum was presided over by Professor Li Jin, Executive Deputy Dean of Huangpu Graduate School of GZHU.
President Wei pointed out in his speech that as a world-renowned research university, HKUST has a group of top research scholars and teams in information science. GZHU will build an innovation hub of "cyberspace information + intelligent application technology" and will be committed to solving major scientific problems and key application technology bottlenecks in information technology. A group of talents from Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao will be cultivated in information technology, artificial intelligence and blockchain industries. It is hoped that this forum will promote cooperation and academic exchange between the two universities.
Other participating experts delivered speeches and conducted in-depth exchange and discussion on the construction of cooperation platforms, jointly cultivating talents, and carrying out projects.
