Guangzhou University hosted online meeting with the Belarusian State University of Culture and Arts. Professor Wei Minghai, President of Guangzhou University and Karchevskaya Natalya, Rector of the Belarusian State University of Culture and Arts, signed cooperation agreement on behalf of the two universities. GZHU Vice-president Wu Kaijun and relevant staff attended the meeting.
President Wei pointed out that this year marked the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Belarus. Cooperation between the two countries has been deepened. It is hoped that the two universities will carry out joint research and exchange in their respective advantageous disciplines, especially in social science, traditional culture and modern art and music and art. The Belarusian State University of Culture and Arts was invited to join the Alliance of Guangzhou International Sister-City Universities to seek mutual benefit and win-win results, and jointly promote the sustainable development of the city.
President Natalya pointed out that the Belarusian State University of Culture and Arts is a key university in culture and arts under the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Belarus. The university has attached great importance to cooperation with Chinese universities and has signed cooperation agreements with more than 40 Chinese universities. President Natalya stressed that the university welcomes more Chinese students to study in Belarus and looks forward to conduct an in-depth exchange and cooperation with Guangzhou University in folk and traditional art, instrumental performance and folk music.
