Confucius Institute at the University of Padua hosted board meeting online on November 10. Professor Qu Shaobing, Chairman of Guangzhou University (GZHU) Council, and Professor Daniela Mapelli, the new rector of the University of Padua attended the meeting.
Professor Qu thanked President Daniela Mapelli for her concern and support for the development of the Confucius Institute, and reviewed the development between the two sister cities and the establishment of the Alliance of Guangzhou International Sister Cities. He pointed out that based on the Confucius Institute, the two universities have carried out student exchange programs and PhD joint education program. The Joint Research Center for Disaster Prevention, Mitigation and Earthquake Resistance, the Sino-Italian International Research Center for Protection on Historical Architecture and Cultural Heritage and the Guangzhou International Sister-City University Alliance have been established. The two sides will continue to carry out in-depth cooperation in an all round way.
On November 11, the two universities hosted assembly meeting and appointed the new Italian Director-General and board members. Professor Giorgio Picci from Confucius Institute at the University of Padua introduced the work having been done in 2021.
