Professor Qu Attends the 2019 International Chinese Language Education Conference

The 2019 International Chinese Language Education Conference was held in Changsha on 9^th December. Vice Premier Sun Chunlan attended the conference and delivered a keynote speech in it. A delegation led by Professor Qu Shaobing, Chairman of the University Council, were present at the conference. The delegates include chairpersons and Chinese and foreign presidents of the Confucius Institute of the University of Padova, Wesleyan College, and the University of Mazandaran.

With the theme of “Innovation and Development of International Chinese Language Education in the New Era”, this Conference held one special topic forum and 32 workshops around the following topics: “the Chinese Language + Vocational Skills”; policy, standard, teachers, textbooks, teaching methods, exams, and brand building of international Chinese education; and deepening cooperation between China and foreign countries. President Qu and Philip Gilmartin, Pro Vice Chancellor of Keele University, jointly hosted the Curricular System of Confucius Institute Workshop of the 4.1 forum.

Concurrently, the representative assembly of the International Society for Chinese Language Teaching was held, in which Professor Qu was elected Standing Director of the society.
