Guangzhou University, July 1, 2013:This morning (July 1), the university held a campus forum to celebrate the 92nd anniversary of the establishment of the Chinese Communist Party, and Zhang Qiang, deputy secretary of University Party Committee and director of Discipline Inspection Commission, leaders of respective grassroots party organizations, retired party members and student party representatives attended the forum.
The meeting first announced the 2013 "Outstanding Party Day" selection results. After careful review, Department of Landscape Architecture from the College of Architecture and Urban Planning and other five branches received the first prize of "Distinguished Party Day" event, Foreign Languages ??College Administration Branch and other 11 supplementary branches won the second prize, Faculty Branch of Liberal Arts college and other 19 branches won the third prize.
At the forum, party member representatives hectically engaged in exchanging perspectives on the following issues: the glorious history in the past 92 years, the great achievements of new China, implementation of the spirit derived from the eighteenth National Congress of the CPC, better functioning the exemplary role of grass-roots party organizations and party members, ways to achieve the Guangzhou University dream of building domestic first-class, world-renowned university and personal ambitions.
Zhang Qiang, on behalf of the University Party Committee, commended the efforts of grassroots organizations and briefly summarized the five achievements of party commission construction work over the past year: first, most organizations excelled constantly under the long-term mechanism with the emergence of a number of advanced collectives and individuals; second, they carried out in-depth self-perfection activities to retain their vitality and efficiency; third, the University Party Commission innovated "party secretary consolidation project "; fourth, the Commission actively organized “A Good Party Day” activity to enhance inner cohesion; fifth, the Commission actively promoted the work of party building research and training to significantly improve the level of party building.
Finally, Zhang Qiang put forth a four-point demand on party building based on our new goals and new tasks: first, implement and further in-depth study the spirit derived from the eighteenth National Congress of the CPC; Second, strengthen discipline on party leaders; third, enhance the building of grassroots organizations; fourth, strengthen the moral construction of staff to create a good teaching ethos to improve the school's overall educational level, and achieve the dream of Guangzhou University.
