Guangzhou University, November 1, 2013:Property Management, one of the majors in School of Business Administration, was assessed by Charted Institute of Housing (CIH) for the second time. The work was done by a delegation made up of four experts, namely, Dr. Roger Keller, director of Education in CIH; Professor Paddy Gray, former president of CIH; Mr. Huang Xianneng, chairman of CIH Asia-Pacific Branch and Mr. Feng Baoguang, a training officer of CIH.
The heads and professors from School of Business Administration expatiated on what they had achieved in the past two years in terms of student training, scientific research, student employment, major construction and social service. Apart from that, they answered the questions raised by CIH experts. After the briefing, CIH experts all agreed that the major of Property Management was closely associated with the housing industry with far-reaching social influence. Thanks to such advantages, students in this field are able to gain support from external resources including CIH Asia-Pacific Branch, thus enjoy the opportunities for practice and employment. Looking forward to the future, CIH experts suggested expanding foreign exchanges such as students’ overseas internship, which would be supported by CIH Asia-Pacific Branch.
Charted Institute of Housing (CIH for short), certifies the professional level of practitioners concerning property management from all parts of the world. According to their professional experience and levels, practitioners can be granted the title of Student Member, Affiliate Member, Housing Practitioner, Professional Member or Senior Member. Winning the approval of CIH certification implies that the education quality is up to the recognized standard of CIH. Therefore, students in this major is qualified for the title of CIH Student Member, which, in turn, will be conducive for them to obtain employments in overseas enterprises such as foreign-funded enterprises and Hong Kong funded enterprises, or to get occupations in Commonwealth countries.
In May, 2011, the major of Property Management passed CIH certification for the first time. So far, there are 57 graduates who have been licensed as CIH Student Member. Currently, only 2 higher institutes in mainland win the approval og CIH certification, namely Guangzhou University and Wuhan University.
