On November 10th, the delegation of the primary and secondary school leadership construction project from Alberta, Canada, consisting of twenty-four representatives, visited Guangzhou University. Vice President Yu Xinwei and leaders of related departments attended the meeting with the delegation.

It is known that the delegation is composed of the directors of the Education Bureau and principals of primary and secondary schools in Alberta. Our university was recommended by The Provincial Education Department to the delegation, which was to visit a nursery school, a secondary school, a high school and a university in Guangzhou from November 10th to November 12th.
At the meeting, Vice president Yu extended a warm welcome to the delegation and then gave a brief introduction of our university. After that, both sides exchanged opinions on the issues including on-the-job training of principals and teachers of primary and secondary schools in Guangzhou, the cultivation of undergraduate teaching majors in Guangzhou University and the professionalization of principals of primary and secondary schools in China. They also discussed about human resource management of public schools in basic education reforms, focusing on the characteristics and achievements of the Middle School Attached to Guangzhou University.
Through the discussion, which gave the delegation a general introduction of Chinese basic education system and the development of the education reform, both sides had a further understanding of the differences between the two countries in education system and teacher training, and reached an agreement on seeking for the cooperation opportunities.
