Guangzhou University, May 13th, 2013:A scientific research and development team of 5 undergraduate students led by Qiu Yanxuan, a senior student, has published 7 English papers in 5 internationally renowned journals of Chemistry in areas of Light, Electric and magnet multi-functional materials.

The 7 papers were published in Journal of Physics & Chemistry in theUS, ChemPlusChem inGermany, ChrystEngcomm in theUK, Iorg.chem.comm. in theNetherlands, Chinese J.inorg.Chem. inChinaand J.Coord.chem inAustralia, which represent the highest level of academic research in Chemistry. And Journal of Physics & Chemistry in particular is the most influential periodical of physics and chemistry in the world.
These achievements would not be possible without the emphasis of the school of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering on the practical skills and innovation abilities of students. According Dong Wen the supervisor of the research team, the team members have great passion on scientific research. The most outstanding team member, Qiu Yanxuan, started her quest of scientific research as a freshman when she went to her supervisor and asked to join in the R&D team. For the past 3 years, she buried herself in the labs and did over 2000 experiments. And she has always come out in the top two places for her academic performance in her four years in university, winning national scholarship and is recommended to graduate schools. In 2001, she won the second prize of the "Challenge Cup" National Finale together with her teammates.
