On November 27, Professor Mo Jiahao, vice-president of Lingnan University, was invited to give a lecture at the 59thHumanities and Social Science High-end Forum. Also hired as GZHU visiting professor and chair professor in Comparative Education of Wesleyan College, he received the certificate from GZHU president Zou Cairong.
At the forum, Professor Mo gave a lecture entitled “To Cultivate leaders with Humanistic Care and International View through Liberal Arts Education”. He detailed historical changes in the idea of liberal arts education and explained the significant role that schools of liberal arts played in the development of western higher education. He also made a profound analysis on the development trend of liberal arts education in the context of internationalization and globalization.
At the same time, he pointed out that adhering to the idea of liberal arts education, Lingnan University spares no effort to develop students’ expertise based on the cultivation of their profound knowledge since its inception. This educational pattern contributes to producing innovative graduates with excellent skills in communication, teamwork and problem-solving, which meets the current demand for talents cultivation in institutions of higher education.
