International Vision Seeing Results as 200 Students Sent Abroad

Guangzhou University, September 6,2013:In the new semester, 100 students will participate in overseas studies or internship programs in the UK, the US, Japan, including 2+2 programs, 1+2+1 programs, international exchange students programs, overseas research programs, and paid internship programs. At present, over 200 students ofGuangzhouUniversityare studying abroad.

According to School of International Education, among the 100 students who are going to study abroad, more than 50 students are going to stay in the University of South Carolina, University of Tampere, Tampere University of Technology, University of Western Ontario, The Grimsby Institute and Fukuoka University for one semester. Other students are going to participate in the 2+2 programs and 1+2+1 programs in theUKand theUSfor double degrees, with still some others joining the paid internship programs in theUS. And 15 students are going to spend a year inUniversityofPadovainItalystarting from this October.

Students of GZU also participated in the summer programs in Harvard, Oxford and University of Heidelberg to experience the academic atmosphere and culture of these world-renowned universities.

In recent years, we are seeing a spike of the number of students of GZU involved in the exchange student programs, which makes GZU a forerunner on this front among universities in Guangdong Province. According the director ofSchoolofInternational Education, GZU is working with leading universities such asUniversityofHeidelberginGermany, University of the West of England in theUK,San JoseStateUniversityin theUSto develop more exchange students programs. And it is also working withCentralMichiganUniversityin theUSandCurtinUniversityinAustraliaon 3+1+1 projects to create more opportunities for students of GZU to study abroad.
