Guangzhou University, November 12, 2013:Recently the faculty members of Wesleyan College Confucius Institute held cultural activities in local communities, visiting the elderly in Carla Nursing Home to send greetings from China and introduce Chinese Culture.
During the one-hour activity, teachers from Confucius Institutedrew a Chinese ink painting named “Colorful China” and presented the connotations ofthe seven colors ---black, white, grey, blue, green, yellow and red---in Chinese culture. The teachers also introduced a melodious folk song named In That Place Wholly Faraway to all the participants. Everyone was deeply immersed in the beauty of Chinese folk music and the passionate singing brought down the House.
It is understood that visiting Carla Nursing House is not only a part of the activities that Wesleyan College Confucius Institute holds to introduce Chinese culture to local communities but also the extension of the Chinese culture courses of WALL. The success of this activity further aroused people’s interest in Chinese culture to such a great extent that many people signed up on the spot for the second session of Chinese culture courses for local communities given by Wesleyan College Confucius Institute.
