Guangzhou University, October 10, 2012:Dr.Harry Knipschild and Margaretha Sumam from Leiden University of Netherlands are invited by the Thirteen Hongs Research Center to give a lecture in GU.
Dr.Harry Knipschild was born in Netherlands in 1944 and gained his BA degree and MA degree in Utrecht University majoring in mathematics, physics and astronomy. He holds a PhD degree of history in Leiden University, specializing in Catholic Church music and pop music history, Asian history, US-Netherlands relationship history and so on. He gave a lecture together with Ms. Margaretha Sumam on the topic of “History and Development of European and American Popular Music and Their Influence on the Society”. Several concert videos were shown to elaborate the topic, and the interactive lecture was well received by the audience in GU.
