On September 28th, a panel of experts from the Ministry of Education led by Deputy Director of the Science and Technology Development Center Zhou Jing visited our school on a field investigation and assessment of our application for the sci-tech novelty retrieval station. Party Secretary Yu Jianshe, Vice-president Xu Junzhong and the directors from related departments of our school attended the assessment meeting.
After extending on behalf of our school warm welcome and thanks to the experts at the meeting, Yu introduced the rapid development of our discipline construction and scientific research, emphasizing that sci-tech novelty retrieval is a guarantee of the originality and quality of scientific research. He indicated that we would take the opinions and suggestions from the experts and continue to support the retrieval station with funds and personnel in order to promote the quality and level of its service.
Having listened attentively to the introduction given by Deputy Director Zhou Jing on the application, the evaluation methods and procedures of sci-tech novelty retrieval stations, Nie Yangang, Chief Librarian of our school, made a detailed report on the construction of our retrieval station. Accompanied by our vice president, the panel members afterwards investigated the construction of our library literature resources, the use of the network and hardware as well as the preparations of our retrieval station. They also sample inspected the sci-tech retrieval reports from 2011 to 2014 and made inquiries about the quantity of novelty retrieval projects, the procedures and regulations of novelty retrieval as well as the team construction, all of which were later evaluated and commented on in an exclusive meeting.
It is reported that the experts will submit their evaluations and comments to the appraisal committee, which will be consulted by the Ministry of Education before it approves the seventh batch of schools to officially construct sci-tech novelty retrieval stations.
