Graduate Students of Grade 2012 Enjoyed “Spiritual Feast”

Guangzhou University, Sep. 21, 2012:The orientation week for the graduate students of Grade 2012 has started with a lecture and a ballet show, preparing 900 graduate students of their brand new life in Guangzhou University.

Professor Fan Junhui, Director of School of Physics and Electronics Engineering and GU Center for Astrophysics gave the lecture entitledOn Scientific Research and Study of Graduate Students. In his lecture, Professor Fan gave advice to the graduate students about how to adapt to the new environment, how to emerge into the research team of their supervisors, how to do scientific research, and how to write research reports based on his experience as a student and later as a supervisor of graduate students.

On September 18thand 19th, more than 1,600 first-year graduate students, their supervisors and relevant administrators enjoyed two ballet shows performed by Guangzhou Ballet Troupe (Guangzhou University Ballet Troupe). Zhang Dandan, famours ballet dancer and Director of Guangzhou Ballet Troupe introduced the history of ballet and its costumes and audience etiquette. It’s worth noting that a first-year graduate student of school of Music and Dance, Zhang Xinyue, was among the performers in the two shows. After the shows, she shared with the audience her take-away in the shows and her plan of her life as a graduate student.
