Our students and teachers triumphed in the 12th MDV Central Air Conditioning Design Competition held in Tianjin recently. Zheng Lintao a graduate student of the School of Civil Engineering won the Outstanding Design Award for his work “Air Conditioning Engineering Design of Office Buildings of a University in Shanghai” after winning the Excellent Design Award jointly with Luo Jialian for another work “Air Conditioning Engineering Design of Performing Arts Center of a University in Guangzhou”. Ji Zhaoliang from the School of Civil Engineering was named the Excellent Instructor.
This competition is the most prestigious competition in HAVC and thus is called the “Oscar” of the HAVC industry. Its participants include professional designers, college students, and contractors. Winning Students will have a professional internship in Midea Central Air Conditioning Company.
The success is the result of the emphasis of the School of Civil Engineering on the cultivation of students’ engineering ability. It combines the discipline construction with the implementation of outstanding engineer training plan in teaching reforms and talent cultivation and attaches importance to the application of professional knowledge and innovation in the process. Therefore the students of the School are often encouraged to participate in various professional competitions.
