The final round of the 2014 China College Students’ Entrepreneurship Competition, co-hosted by the Communist Youth League Central Committee, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, China Association for Science and Technology, All-China Students Federation and the People's Government of Hubei Province, came to an end recently. Qi Yizhi, the first secretary of the Secretariat of CYL Central Committee, and other leaders attended the final competition and the closing ceremony. Our university set a new record with a silver medal won by our work “Huanmei Technology co., LTD” in the business plan competition, a bronze medal awarded to the work of Jiang Ping and other students from the School of Business Administration in the business practice competition and another silver medal and two bronze medals in the mobile internet competition.

It is reported that the 2014 Entrepreneurship Competition is an overall upgrade of the original “Challenge Cup” China College Students’ Entrepreneurship Competition. With the theme of “the Chinese Dream, the Entrepreneurial Dream and My dream”, it comprises three major competitions—the business plan competition, the business practice competition and the competition of business plan for public interest—and a series of special competitions such as the MBA and mobile internet entrepreneurship competition. The silver medalist work “Huanmei Technology co., LTD.” was finished by 10 students from the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, the School of Business Administration and etc. under the guidance of the teachers from the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering. During the preparation for the competition, the Youth League and relevant schools invited experts in and out of our university to hold special training seminars and a mock defense.

With students as the first inventors, “Huanmei Technology co., LTD.” also obtained two patents in the final competition. Its environment-friendly ink product was unanimously praised by venture firms, experts, students and the media for its reasonable price and bright colors and the event was reported by CCTV “News Broadcast”. Secretary Qin Yizhi and Secretary Fu Zhenbang, and Deputy Secretary of Guangdong Provincial Committee of CYL Chi Zhixiong spoke highly of the work and Zhang Qiang, Deputy Secretary of GU Party Committee and Secretary of the Discipline Committee showed deep concern about the competition and rooted for our students in the defense classroom.
