Guangzhou University, October 26th,2013：The founding meeting of Guangzhou University Shunde Alumni Association was held in DaLiang, Shunde. Attendants at this meeting included nine representatives from our university headed by Ms. Lin Juan, director of The United Front Work Department of the Party committee, and fifty alumnus graduated from the former South China Construction Institute.
The Shunde Alumni Association Council was elected and formed in this meeting. Lu Xiaoming, 1995 year graduate and now chief architect of Guangdong Shunjian Planning and Design Institute Co., was elected as the chairman, Xie Zhanfeng, Chen Weichun, Xiao xiaojie as the vice chairman, and Zhang Wenfu as secretary.
Mr. Lu expressed his sentimental attachment to alma mater and sense of pride to the recent achievements of our university in the opening address. In order to enhance the sense of belonging, he also planned to gradually expand the influence of this association in Shunde.
Lin Juan conveyed the congratulation from school leaders for the founding of Shunde alumni association. On behalf of Alumni Association，she hoped that Shunde could give full play to the role of Guangzhou University’s first regional alumni association in the province. Lin Juan further introduced the Alumni Association’s achievement in organizing activities and promoting cooperation since its founding in four years. She claimed that Alumni Association will complete the organizational structure and operating mechanism in the future, give full play to the advantages and potential of alumni, and strive to create a good situation of mutual support and development between alumni and alma mater.
