Recently, with the strong support of Padua municipal government, the Confucius Institute at Padua University hosted the Spring Festival celebration and the Chinese culture experience activity in the environmentally friendly park of Parco Fenice to celebrate the year of goat. The event showcased a variety of Chinese elements. The site of it was decorated with couplets, lanterns and red balloons, which created a festive atmosphere. Separate booths and experience areas were arranged for Chinese calligraphy, paper-cutting and lantern-making demonstration and practice, Tai Chi demonstration, tea ceremony performance, Chinese massage experience, Chinese food tasting as well as exhibitions of Chinese and Italian handicrafts and Chinese books. Teachers and students of Padua University, local municipal officials and citizens, lovers of Chinese culture from surrounding areas personally experienced the joyous atmosphere of Chinese New year with these activities.
It was reported that these two public comprehensive universities reached a consensus under the impetus of international friendly city: modern cities all universally encountered dilemma in sustainable development, and the study of related technology & policy would contribute to the city development and residents' well-being. To found the "sustainable development research center" was to make the utmost use of the bilateral advantages, especially the multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary experience of enterprise cooperation on the part of Linkoping University. This move can utilize the resources of government, enterprises, research institutes and thus promote the application of sustainable development technology in Guangzhou city.
