Guangzhou University, October 29, 2013:Recently, the Association of the Eminent, on No.29, Giotto Road, Padua, alive with people coming and going, enveloped in ink fragrance, glistened for the works of Chinese Painting and Calligraphy. Here the Confucius Institute in Padua and the Italy Chinese Culture Foundation co-hosted the First “ Chinese Painting and Calligraphy Exhibition in Padua”.

The activity unveiled its curtain on Oct. 23rd and would last for one week to celebrate the 4th anniversary of the establishment of CI in Padua and its open week. Over one hundred pieces of works of Chinese Painting and Calligraphy collected from Beijing, Yunnan, Inner Mongolia, Zhejiang and so on studded on the exhibition, with various forms of fine brushwork, water color painting, oil painting, plate engraving and so on. Exchange students of our university, wearing chi-pao, enthusiastically explain the art of Chinese Painting and Calligraphy to the visitors. There was also live performance of the Guzheng music Notturno in the Fishing boat and Tea Art performance, making a dynamic Chinese classic picture of the composition of painting, music, tea and dress.
The painting and calligraphy exhibition, held in the former residence of Father of European Painting--Giotto, aimed to realize the fusion of the essence of painting between East and West, have attracted more attention from people of all circles in Padua.
