Sketch Show of Guangzhou Unversity Won Unanimous Acclamation in its Beijing Debut

From April 28th to May 10th, “Positive and Negative Energy " sketch show, the teaching achievement of Art and Design School of Guangzhou University, made its debut apperance in Korean Folk Art Center Museum located in Beijing, as a resporting exhibition to the Art League of Contemporary College Students, and immediately won a wide range of academic attention and praise.

The exhibition highlighted the the living conditions, delicately manifested in the form of art, of the contemporary college students, and the result of continuous exploration into basic education reform of the school in recent years and the emodiment of a new art concept. During the exhibition, a symposium was held. Experts and scholars commended on our teaching reform experiment and affirmed that the works in the exhibition was a bold attempt and innovation, which can unyoke art colleges from the training mode inherent in the bond of Arts Exam and return to art aesthetic nature with an experimental creative mind and stimulate our reassessment, analysis and re-judgement on art basic eucation.

The exhibition was initiated by Mr. ZhangYaping, associate professor of Art and Design School, & Mr. Aihai, museum director of Korean Folk Art Center, and presided by Professor Wang Xiaoshu, dean of Art and Design School, under the sponsorship of He Shijie Education Development Fund of Guangzhou University.

It is reported that the School of Art and Design, as an arts education reform pilot unit of Guangdong Province, has always attached importance to the study of art basic education and undertaken a series of reform and experiment in basic teaching. Mr. Zhang Yaping, with an innovative perspective on traditional art, modern art and art education, conducted a series of unprecented experiments in basic art education. After a year of tail on the 2011 year undergraduate, "Positive and Negative – Judgment and Interpretation on Contemporary Visual Aesthetics " Sketch Show was launched in the Performing Arts Center of our university in October of 2012, which had won unanimous support from the staff and students. The Coin Setch Show, strongly recommed by experts and peers, oncorded with the activity theme of Contemporary College Students Art League headed by 798 Contemporary Art Center, and finally made its appearance in Beijing, which was a great achievement for our university.
