Recently, the ministry of Science and Technology released the 2014 annual list of international science and technology cooperation demonstration base. Our base, engineering structures of wind resistance and structural safety, was ratified as one of 19 national models, which marked a significant progress in terms of international scientific and technological cooperation as well as breakthroughs in the national platform construction.
It wais reported that this recognition aimed to facilitate international cooperation in science and technology, upgrade the quality and level of international scientific cooperation, deploy the integration of "project - talent - base" model, utilize effectively the globalresources, and extend the influence of these bases in international science and technology cooperation.
The official in charge of science and technology department introduced that the success in this nomination born out our achievement in science platform construction, which had already been recognized by the government. This base provided a more favorable platform to further international cooperation, effectively utilize domestic and foreign intellectual resources, and extend the influence of our Civil Engineering research. He added that the next step should be further advancement to a higher level.
