Chinese Food Sparkled in Wesleyan College’s International Gourmet Festival Again

Since first debut in last year, Confucius Institute’s Chinese food and dancing performance reached a climax again inWesleyanCollege’s international gourmet festival on Nov. 11.

WesleyanCollegehas more than hundreds of students from over 40 countries. Every year, the international gourmet festival provides a platform for each country to demonstrate its national features and food. Under intense competition of Russian Salad,Irelandpumpkin pie, Italian mashed potato and various delicious food from other countries, Chinese food of Confucius Institute still became the priority choice. The seasonal healthy cuisines,Yangzhoufried rice and White Fungus Soup with Lotus Seeds, enjoyed great popularity among foreigner friends. To enhance the festivity, the dance “Little Apple” and chorus song “Five-red-star Flag”, performed by the Confucius teachers and students, invited thunderous applause.

Success of this event arouses more students and community people to pay attention and love to Chinese culture. In order to meet the request from students, Confucius Institute inWesleyanCollegenow is also positively developing new courses to offer cooking culture course and Chinese folk dance in next term.
