Renowned American Painter Kevin·D·Macpherson gave a lecture on “the Pursuit ofthe Rainbow” in Guangzhou University on October 16. Over 300 listeners, including students and teachers from other universities, attended the lecture and appreciated the master’s painting demonstration.

He gave much credit to School of Art and Artistic Design of GU for its advocacy of returning to nature, where art derives, as it is the only way to keep art alive. He also responded to a series of unanswered questions concerning oil painting in Chinese art world with profound analysis and insightful interpretation of abstract art and light art, and stressed the significant role of artists in the society. Mr. Macpherson’s lecture was warmly applauded by the audience, according to whom it offered an international perspective and an up-to-date introduction of outdoor painting in the U.S.
