GZHU Delegation Visited Confucius Academy

On December 8th, led byZhang Qiang,GZHU Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee andSecretary of Commission for Discipline Inspection, GZHU delegationvisitedConfucius Academy in Hong Kong at the invitation of Dr. Tang Enjia, Dean of Confucius Academy. The two sides discussed issues includingcarrying forward Chinese traditional culture and erecting the statue of Confucius in GZHU funded by Confucius Academy.

It is known that the Confucius Academy was founded in 1930 by Chen Huanzhang, a student of Kang Youwei. On account of the profound impact of Confucianism, Confucian Academy spares no effort to spread the Confucian culture. It has done a lot of work in the promotion of Confucianism and donation for Confucian education concerning giving lectures, running schools, setting up the statue of Confucius, donating on construction of statue of Confucius and supporting academic activities.

During the visit, Deputy Secretary Zhang Qiang met Dean Tang Enjia, Deputy Dean Gao Baiming and related officials. Accompanied by Dean Tang, he then paid a visit to Confucius Academy. The statue of Confucius to be constructed funded by Confucius Academy will become a significant cultural and educational sight in GZHU, which contributes to the improvement of cultural taste and cultural literacy of teachers and students.
