Confucius Institute at Wesleyan College launches the annual Christmas Thanksgiving Carnival, which is well received as last year.
Christmas Thanksgiving Carnival is one of the traditional events held by Wesleyan College, during which the professors, taking off their formal suits, put on Christmas apparel or cartoon costume and serve students in the canteen personally. Students choose to sit in different arena to communicate with their favorite professors who are assigned to varied service spot. This year, the Confucius Institute is decorated with items alive with Chinese characteristics such as panda dolls and Beijing Opera masks. Students from classes of Calligraphy, Chinese Language, dancing and Sport Association, swarm into the hall to converse with the faculty members.
Meanwhile, the Chinese dishes, prepared by the Confucius Institute in the event “Thanks for Your Company”, are highly acclaimed by all participants and tagged by maple-leaf labels in token of the students’ gratitude. Furthermore, a speech entitled “Walking into Chinese Language”, given by Ms. Liu Weihong from Confucius Institute, weredirected to student representatives from senior high schools in Macon just before the Thanksgiving Day. She introduced the origin and evolution of Chinese characters through some interesting interactive activities, which inspired the attendees’ passion in learning Chinese language and culture.
