On the afternoon of April 18th, Dr. Lucis Pasqualini, Consul General of the Italian Consulate General in Guangzhou, visited Guangzhou University (GZHU). President Wei Minghai and Vice-President Guo Xingpeng met Dr. Pasqualini and her delegation. Responsible persons from the International Office of GZHU and the Office of the University of Padova in Guangzhou attended the meeting.

President Wei first extended a warm welcome to Dr. Pasqualini, and then introduced the collaboration between the two universities in research in areas such as astrophysics, civil engineering, earthquake resistance, and cultural heritage protection, and talent training, which was under the support of the Guangzhou Municipal Government and the Padova government. GZHU has spared no efforts in expanding research cooperation and academic exchanges with Italian universities including the University of Padova. It is hoped that the two sides will promote cooperation in Lingnan art design, industrial application and cultural promotion, management of small and medium-sized enterprises, urban water network management and environmental governance.
Dr. Pasqualini briefed President Wei on the “Italian Research Day” activities, which was to promote China - Italy cooperation on scientific and technological innovation . She said that the Italian Consulate General in Guangzhou appreciated the academic exchanges and the cooperation carried out by the two sides in recent years. The Consulate will further strengthen mutual ties to achieve a win-win outcome.
After the meeting, Dr. Pasqualini attended the opening ceremony of the “Mars Day - China-Italian Joint Research Workshop” at GZHU.
