The National Science and Technology Awards Conference was hosted by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council in Beijing on November 3rd. Party and state leaders including Xi Jinping, Li Keqiang, Wang Huning and Han Zheng attended the meeting and presented awards to the winners. The project "Key Technologies and Applications of Intelligent Map Synthesis and Multi-scale Cascade Updating", which was hosted by Academician Wang Jiayao from Henan University and Professor Zhang Xinchang from School of Geography and Remote Sensing of Guangzhou University (GZHU) was one of its main participants, was awarded the second place prize of National Prize for Progress in Science and Technology. Professor Zhang Xin was invited to attend the Conference and received a certificate of award.
