[09-26] GZHU Research Team Discovers the Earliest Parietal Art from the Middle Pleistocene of Tibet

Guangzhou University research team led by Professor Zhang Dian published an article entitled "Early Parietal Art: Homonin Hand and Foot Traces from the Middle Pleistocene of Tibet" online on Science Bulletin. Professor Zhang is the first author and co-corresponding author. The article attracted wide attention at home and abroad.

The study had resulted in two significant discoveries. Firstly, it provides evidence for the earliest known example of parietal art, dating to the middle Pleistocene. Secondly, it provides evidence for the earliest known occupation (or visitation) of the Tibetan Plateau.
