Associate Professor Yang Xiankun from the School of Geography and Remote Sensing of Guangzhou University (GZHU), together with experts from Hongkong, the U.S., Sweden, Australia and Germany, quantify and compare CO2 emissions from streams, rivers, lakes, and reservoirs in China in the 1980s and 2010s. The result was published on Nature Communications.
In this study, the CO2 emission flux of inland waters and the change of water area in China during 1980s and 2010s were accurately estimated.
