GU Hosts 2017 Hong Kong University Students IT Innovation and Entrepreneurship Exchange Camp

    Recently, the 2017 Hong Kong University Students IT Innovation and Entrepreneurship Exchange Camp was hosted in Guangzhou University (GU), which attracted a total of 60 university teachers and students attended who come from the University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Hong Kong Polytechnic University, City University of Hong Kong, Lingnan University, Education University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education, GU Wesleyan College, School of Foreign Language, School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship and School of Education.

This exchange camp aims to promote interaction among young and middle school students in Hong Kong and Guangzhou through  strengthening technological innovation and entrepreneurship among young college students, enhance Hong Kong college students’ understanding to entrepreneurial policies, environment, hi-tech, advanced manufacturing and urban sustainable development of Guangzhou city, and boost Hong Kong students’ confidence to start up business in mainland China, especially students from science and engineering colleges.

During the camp, participants participated in the "Hong Kong University Students IT Innovation Forum" and discussed about domestic cases of starting business. They also visited Tianhe II Supercomputer, Canton Tower and some representative enterprises.

Before the camp ended, participants listened to the support programs and preferential policies to Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan students and returned overseas students given by representatives from scientific and technological departments of the government. They also attended the plaque unveiling ceremony of "Hong Kong Youths IT Science Space" and provided suggestions for students entrepreneurial demonstration projects of Hong Kong universities and Guangzhou University.
