Hosted by Guangzhou University (GU) and organized by Guangdong Province Earthquake Warning and Key Laboratory of Key Project Safety Diagnosis as well as the key laboratory of China Earthquake Administration Earthquake Monitoring and Mitigation Technology, the 2017 Engineering Mechanics Summit was hosted in GU successfully.
Representatives of nearly 200 people at home and abroad have participated in this forum, including Academician Zhou Fulin and Xie Lili from the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Academician A.H-S. Ang from the U.S. National Academy of Engineering, Academician Akio Wada from the Japanese Academy of Engineering, Academician Billie F. Spencer from Polish Academy of Engineering and Academician Kok-Kwang Phoon from Singapore Academy of Engineering.
Professor Cui Jie, Dean of the School of Civil Engineering of GU, addressed the opening ceremony and extended a warm welcome to the arrival of the experts. 10 famous scholars at home and abroad gave keynote speeches and 8 experts including Research Tan Ping from GU made the invited lectures.
Held biennially, the forum is a high level academic exchange platform for engineering mechanics and endeavors to promote international exchange and cooperation.
