YU Jian-she, professor, doctor, supervisor of doctoral students, Prresident of Guangzhou University, and member of the National Teaching Guidance Committee. In 1997, he was appointed Vice President of Hunam University and member of the Standing Committee of Hunan University CPC Committee. He does research in the fields of Functional Equations and Differnce Equation and their application . The academic team that he is on a group of two full professors, three associate professors and seven dotoral strdents. He has so far undertaken five research projects sponsored by the state, and 16 research projects suppoured by the province and ministry. He has so far been awarded by the national govemment one first Prize for Exedllence in Teaching Rasearch, two first Prizes for Excellence in Taaching Research by the province, and two 1st class, and three second class Prizes for Scientific Advancement, at the province//ministry level. He has also been awarded the State Council Special Allowance for Ourstanding Experts,and been selected as member of both the first and second levels of the national'100/1000/10000Talents Program'. The other honours he has been awarded include 'Model Worker of the Natinal Educational Circles' and 'Young and Middle-aged Experts of Exceptional Academic Achievement'.
