FAN Jun-hui, a reputed astrophysicist, supervisor of doctoral students and Director of the Institute of Astrophysics of Guangzhou university. He has been in charge of one research project supported by the National Natural Sciences und and one research project supporued by the Natural Sciences Fund of Guangdong Province, and has been involved in one key research project of the State's "9th Five-Year Plan", and another key research project of the State's "Climb Plan". He is also the recipient of the "national Fund for Outstanding Youth" and has been awarded the national prize for excellent projects in natura sciences, the scholarship from the Directou of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and a 2nd Class Prize for Natural Science by the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Hiis achievements have been rated as one of the " Top Ten Projects of fFundamental Sciences" by the ministry of Sciene and Technology. He has so far had over 70 research papers published, of which more thean 40 have been recorded by the SCI. his research papers have been cited more than 80 times and during the 1996-1998 period,, his research papers recorded by the SCI have received the highest score in the Chinese astronomy circles.
