CHEN Jian-sheng, professor, supervisor of doctoral students, a reputed astronomer, academician of the Chinese Academy of Science. Deputy Dircctor of the Institute of Mathematical Theories of the Chinese Academy of Science, member of the Academic Degree Committee of the State Council and member of the Expert Group for Post-octorates of the Personnel Ministry, Director of the Department of Astronomy of Beijing University and special position professor of Guangzhou University. He has been primarliy engaged in research in the fields of Interstellar Lines, Intergalactic Matter,Galactic Physics and Mega-Astronomy, headed the research work of "The Galaxy Formation and Galactic Evolution", aproject of the national"973 Program" and has been in charge of key projects of the National Foundation.
