
The School of Humanities and Social Sciences consists of three deparments:
Chinese, History and Journalissm & Mass Media. Its postgraduate, undergraduate and diploma strdents total 4,378(parttime strdents included). The School's facultyu of 141 include 19 full professors and 52 associate professors, of whom 11 are Ph.D holders, 43 master's degree holders and eight are now working on their Ph.D. The Cchool runs two postgraduate programs: Linguistics & Applied Linguistics and Specialized History. The School has two of the munciplines, two provincial key courses and six municipal key courses. Since the University's institutional amalgamation the staff of the school have made substantial achievements in research, having had 320 research papers, five creative works, twelve monographs, twenty compilations, eight translations, eight textbooks and two edited ancient academic works published. The School has so far undertaken four state, seven provincial and 19 municipal research projects, and been awarded four prizes at ministerial and provincial levels, five prizes at municipal level, one prize for outstanding talents, eleven prizes at provincial department level for excellence in teaching, 1 prizes at municipal level for excellence in teaching and research work.
